Finishing Well

We’ve now had a week for the finality of our season to set in! Sniff, sniff….I miss you already! What an amazing season we had! Our awards ceremony was extra special to me as I found it amazing (divine intervention) that the rain held off until the very minute we finished handing out our awards. Although our evening of fun was cut short, I am thankful for the closure we had in acknowledging our wonderful board, swimmers and coaches! Let the excitement begin for next year!

Here are some of the highlights of our accomplishments this year:

Swimmers filled with enthusiasm and excitement for practice and meets
Improvement, improvement, improvement!!!
Summer friendships developed, both between swimmers and families
Growth in sportsmanship, teamwork, and team spirit!
Incredible involvement from our outstanding junior coaches
Work ethic from our swimmers!
Overwhelming personal best times!

Coach Turner’s favorites:

Watching the 6 and unders develop into steady, strong swimmers
Seeing our team rise to the challenge of consistent two-hand touches
Coming to practice after the pool had been vandalized and watching our junior coaches step into action picking up
Vigorous competition in our Water Polo games
Stretching the swim cap to fit a small child inside
Being asked for the 84th time what the set is (a great laugh for the coaches)
Applying sunscreen, again
Fixing goggles and putting on caps
Greased Watermelon!
Fin relays on land
Breakfast taco delivery!
Giving and getting hugs
